Independent Financial Advisers Manning and Company have raised £1275 for Age UK Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Kate Gannon our Chartered Financial Planner of the Year 2016, is the Treasurer Trustee of the charity and held a Christmas Party with proceeds helping to provide assistance to the elderly who are lonely or need a helping hand with things this Christmas.
The gathering on 7th December also welcomed two new advisers to the Manning and Company Newquay office.
Donna Hansen and James Savage recently joined Charted Financial Planner of the Year Kate Gannon as Manning and Company expand into Cornwall, bringing with them years of experience and a wealth of knowledge.
After spending three and a half years in estate agency in various locations in Cornwall, Donna moved to work as an agent for Prudential Assurance where she advised people for ten years.
In 2000, she became an independent adviser and moved to a small firm of IFAs in Truro where she stayed for a couple of years before joining Worldwide Financial Planning.
During that time she built strong relationships with clients, particularly enjoying looking after those just moving into retirement or clients who had already retired.
Talking about moving to Manning and Company Donna said:
My emphasis is very much on future planning, cascading wealth through generations and really getting to know my clients well. I love this part of the job!
Outside of work, Donna enjoys walks with her husband and their dog, Pilates, going to the theatre and the occasional live music event!
James Savage started his financial career working for Barclays and then moved onto work for Santander as a Mortgage Adviser. After learning the processes, he decided to move to an estate agency where he could offer buyers a range of products offering the best solution for them along with the best service.
After a year, an opportunity arose to be an area manager for an investment and pensions company, building his knowledge of the financial industry and making great connections along the way.
After travelling many miles per month, he realised that his calling was helping customers buy their first home, move home or save money.
James then returned to mortgages, joining us here at Manning and Company as a Mortgage Adviser.
On becoming a Manning and Company adviser James said:
After travelling 3500 miles a month in my previous role I realised that my heart lies with helping people get on the property ladder. I have joined Manning and Company and have since set up ‘Cheap Mortgage Quotes’ on social media which sees a lot of interaction each week. I like to treat every client like family.
In his spare time James is a keen snowboarder of 10 years and enjoys going to the gym.
Manning and Company also welcome Administrator Lucy Opie to our team. Lucy supports the Advisers and is the first point of contact at the Newquay office.
Manning and Company have been established for 29 years with offices around the UK including Devon, Glasgow and Cornwall.
Paul Northmore, Managing Director said
It is my pleasure to welcome Donna and James to Manning and Company. They join Kate making three advisers in Cornwall all with qualifications to deal with all financial needs.
