Are You Getting the Full Benefit of Your State Pension

Are You Getting the Full Benefit of Your State Pension

To help you understand more about the State Pension, and how to maximise it, we’re giving free access to a short, impartial, State Pension video box set.

It includes important facts such as State Pension age and how the benefit is calculated. It also includes some very useful information about your National Insurance record if you have any gaps, in order to maximise your pension.
There is an optional second video which gives more detail on the State Pension before it was simplified in 2016.

Full State Pensions for a couple are worth around £18K per annum and, to match the equivalent benefit by purchasing an annuity would typically cost more than half a million pounds!

The box set includes links to two really useful government web resources.

The first enables you to get a free State Pension forecast, invaluable information for retirement planning.

The second allows you to examine your National Insurance record to identify any gaps. If you have any gaps there are a number of activities including caring for loved ones and education that may entitle you to National Insurance credits.

Please see more information on the box set below:

Chapter 1 – The State Pension  (9 mins)

Chapter 2 – State Pension changes in 2016 (7 mins)

For those who are interested this optional chapter contains additional details about the changes made to the state pension and their impact.

If you would like to watch the box set you can register here.
